Twoo & Tree #96

Twoo & Tree

≡ January 2025 ≡

Christmas time is gone but here comes a newsletter whose sack is full with a horde of dishevelled notes, wild and unbridled and only waiting for jumping into your greedy ears.

Then here I am, joyfully shaking a new album in each hand, just like a doom and gloom scarecrow, harmless and colourful banners that will try to set the tone for a year we hope to be valiant, invigorating and as peaceful as possible in spite of the squadron of roadhogs leading the world.

Two albums then.

NO&RD - Twoo (2e album O. Mellano & R. Boulard) 2025 It has been 10 years since, during a prosperous day, Sir Régïs Boulard and I composed and recorded One, the first NO&RD. album. For Twoo, we worked thrice and treat ourselves to three days at the Caverne Studio with the perfect captain Nico Sacco in command.

Red icing on the cake: a new short film by Axel Plantec who, after shooting the Dr Cappuccino’s one, tackled the ascent of our Tornado rosso.

GLOYW – My father was a treeUnder the same ideal and cavernous conditions, GLOYW is born -it means ‘brilliant’ in Welsh and is pronounced ‘gloyou’. Thanks to an alchemical transmutation, when John Greaves meets NO&RD, it creates GLOYW, a frisky trio releasing its first album My Father Was A Tree under the Dark Companion Italian label.

We are hopping up and down to have you listening to these two albums that you can soon order right here and taste two titles as a preview: Neurovision for NO&RD and The Sky Is Blue for GLOYW.

Concert GLOYW + NO&RD - 14 janvier Paris (18e) To celebrate and reveal the two CD, we organize a double release party in Paris at the Hasard Ludique, on Tuesday 14. A nice and shaggy evening to come with six tornado-guests: Eve Risser the piano-woman, Nancy Huston the writer, Benoît Burello//Bed the pop goldsmith, Hakim Hamadouche the king of mandolute, Mirabelle Gilis the breathtaking violonist, and Didier Malherbe the cosmic flautist from the great years of Gong. So that you do not miss this unmissable evening, you may click with great ceremony on here.

Croire aux fauves par Laure Werckmann – musique originale O. Mellano | 11, 14 au 16 janvier Strasbourg (67)And also new composing for a stage adaptation, the one for Croire aux fauves (In the Eye of the Wild) book by the anthropologist Nastassja Martin who, after having her face eaten by a bear, started to write her rebirth, as a tightrope walker exploring the porous nature of worlds. Laure Werckmann, with whom we collaborated for J’aime, has staged and will play the metamorphosis at the TJP of Strasbourg on the 11, 14, 15 and 16, before other dates in France.

You might also go and see Acqua Alta by Adrien M & Claire B, will you be in Villeparisis on the 25th or in Libourne on the 28th.

Here it is for these few things with not so much importance that probably make life important.
I wih you a very happy New Year.
