Refreshments

≡ June – Summer 2026 ≡

The one thing that does not necessarily qualify my music is its ‘caliente’ side. Then, would you need to turn the temperature down during Summer time, I invite you to a few chilled rendezvous so that to freshen up starting from ears.

Olivier Mellano - Gravity Lessons (nouvel album) peinture Haruko MaedaFirst of all, I’m glad to introduce you to a possible siestamate. Gravity Lessons is being released on Radio France Signature label and it is available on platforms. Twenty instrumental tracks weaved with guitar, a collection of gentle winds, of cosmic Westerns, of submarine ballets, of vibrating spaces and euphoric rides.

In My Head - a film tribute to David Lynch (Twin Peaks)Did you notice how difficult it is to guess what the temperature may be in every scene of David Lynch’s films? To show that this question does not make sense, we will pace up and down again the musical smokes that encircle the fire and ice twin peaks for In My Head – a film tribute to David Lynch on 12 June at the Arsenal de Metz. Three months later, equally regular as the Moon, we will be on 12 September at the Festival Brasswood Soundtracks in Poland, and then, three months later on 12 December at Salle Pleyel in Paris.

Mélismes + Piers Faccini + Rosemary Standley - Lux Invisibilis (crédit Ars Musica)Back in 2021, I started a collaboration with the marvellous Choeur de Chambre Mélismes directed by the marvellous Gildas Pungier with whom I have again the pleasure to meet for creating Lux Invisibilis, a new set for a capella pieces with twelve voices, along with the ones of Piers Faccini and Rosemary Standley invited to join the choir and interpret two new compositions. You will be able to discover this creation at the Festival Chants Libres on 28 June in Lannion. We will afterwards start recording the album whose release is planned at the beginning of 2027 and that should not really participate to the global warming, without spoiling.

Retour à Gabily par Stanislas Nordey - Avignon Back in the Festival d’Avignon on 10 July, along with Emmanuelle Béart, Océane Caïraty, Vincent Dedienne and Stanislas Nordey, to set Didier-Georges Gabily’s words to music and to try to calm down the cicadas living inside the Calvet museum’s garden, for a concert-lecture produced by Sophie-Aude Picon and broadcast live on France Culture.

I hope you will be able to taste some of these humble and ambitious refreshments.

I wish you the nicest Summer time.

Olivier Mellano
