01 Dec Last flakes #95
Last flakes
≡ December 2024 ≡
After the hard-working November, the end of the year is gently settling down with some last flakes full with decibels and electricity.
On Thursday the 5th, on the way to the Loir-et-Cher where the Chatodo in Blois gives me carte blanche during which I invite four fantastic entities: the incredible piano-woman Eve Risser, the marvellous Bed who will offer us new gems of colascione, NO&RD our duo with Régïs Boulard, and Gloyw our trio with John Greaves, the last two of my beloved bands whose albums will be released in January. All of this will joyfully jumble together for a gust that I promise beautiful and sonic. To have a test, I give you, in preview, the short film for a new NO&RD title, the well-named Twoo, animated by John Trap.
Another atmosphere if you’re in Paris on Friday the 13th, no other better day to go down to the Lavoir Numérique in Gentilly for being caught by the Hour of the Wolf, the nightmare-masterchief by Bergman that I will be pleased to put music on again for a live-cinema.
Would you also be able to be at the same time in Brittany, do not miss Jean-Clone by Julien Mellano, on the 5th in Inzinzac-Lochrist and on the 12th and 13th in Brest.
At the end of this rough year for the world, where the dangerous folly of some crazy ones pushes the stupefaction’s limits, where, in France, the President of the Pays de la Loire region, more dangerous than a Medef seminar under psychotropic substance, appears to have grown wings by cutting those of arts and by bombing with napalm the culture and the non-profit community, where it is now an ever bigger challenge to find reasons to hope, let’s stick together, let’s build up strength and courage, let’s believe in beauty, in simplicity and in complexity, let’s stay on the track of meaning and let’s aim high even if the sky is low.
All of you, have a pleasant and gentle end of year.
Olivier Mellano
