Glow&Burst
≡ October 2022 ≡
Here comes Autumn and our modest input to its glow.
Electrical glow to start with, in Guyancourt on the 14th at the Batterie, for a Mellano Soyoc concert with Uriel Barthélémi on drums and just before Rodolphe Burger & Erik Marchand.
This same Erik Marchand who created the Kreiz Breizh Akademi, in 2003, the folk cultures’ academy for modal music, an incubator of glowing musicians who clear the ground for traditional music and bear it to a high boil. I’ll join them to plunge into the modal pot and spice it up with noise, with drone and with some other astringency during 2 days of a workshop I’ll be pleased to lead.
Then, I’ll find again the bursts of laughter of the comrade Pacôme Thiellement, for another improvised musical conference. A jump in the air, sine qua non condition in an attempt to fly, operated on the 21st for the Festival Pop Philosophie at the Cité de la Musique in Marseille.
Paradoxical burst of dark matter, Supergravité the amazing play by Julien Mellano is back on the space-time of the Sablier in Ifs, one of the potential spaces of our universe.
The outbursts of ‘Ce qu’il faut dire’ by Léonora Miano and directed by Stanislas Nordey will echo in Africa. The great team (Océane Caïraty, Mélody Pini, Houédo Dieudonné Dossa Parfait, Ysanis Padonou and Lucie Delmas on percussion) will play in Cotonou in Benin on the 4th, in Lomé in Togo on the 8th, and in Yaoundé in Cameroon on the 14th and 16th and in Douala on the 19th.
“Nos fanfares éclatent dans la nuit(*)“ – ‘Zones’ will be released this month, the forthcoming album by John Greaves who honoured me by entrusting me with the artistic production of its compositions, gold-stitched with the Alcohols poems by Guillaume Apollinaire(*), with voices of Jeanne Added, Bertrand Belin and Himiko Paganotti, with Vincent Courtois on cello, Sylvain Lemêtre on percussion, Laurent Valéro playing the violin and myself on guitar. Music unlike no other, rough and soft, clear and complex, carried away towards spheres by the talentuous John. A first extract will be available on platforms on the 12th before its release on Signature records.
Speaking about records, after the first vinyl batch of Mellano Soyoc is sold like psychoactive hotcakes, here come new ones available everywhere and here. Not such good vitamins to enter Autumn and have you shine with all your glow.
