Decade, millenium and dragons
≡ April 2025 ≡
What do I see right now? Ten years of newsletters. An opportunity to express my gratitude towards my two fairies, Caroline Cornu, the dream webweaver who designs and publishes these monthly letter and maintains the website with mastery, and Valérie Deroin, ace translator who takes care of the English version. Many thanks also to each of you for following the stories and sending your many enthusiastic feedbacks that give momentum.
Ten years and here comes the tenth episode of Exprosion.
A tale this time, the story of Avide and Divita, two dragons that fight above us. A tale that will take a particular sound today.
But let’s look at tomorrow, with the sixteen young artists of the Millenial Academy, especially created for Caen’s millenium, for a 4-day workshop that I will conduct and that will end with a public presentation at the Écuries du pôle culturel Lorge on the 25th at 5.00pm. Given the diversity and cultural wealth of their disciplines (writing, dance, music, visual arts, sciences, theatre, cinema, performance, design, architecture…), the result should be as much joyful as explosive.
The day before, on the 24th, once again during the Caen’s millenium events, we’ll be at the IMEC with Étienne Klein for another conférence-concert improvisée whose theme remains unknown until we get on stage but that will surely shake the time-space continuum and will take us very far, which is the closest inside us.
Will you be in Toulouse, you’ll have the opportunity to spend an evening at the Feydeau L’Hôtel du Libre-Échange, staged by Stanislas Nordey with a cheerful final, all with feathers, choreographed by Loïc Touzé on a merry cha-cha-cha that I composed. It will happen at the Théâtre de la Cité in April 3 to 11.
As for Jean-Clone, he will multiply and you’ll be lucky to discover this wonder by Julien Mellano if you’re in Bourg-en-Bresse, Meylan, Valence or Lyon where, by the way Core by Adrien M & Claire B is still pulsing at the MAC.
Here it is for this 99th Spring newsletter and I wish you a bright season; will you need to boost its soundtrack, you still have the possibility to adopt our latest album here.
Olivier Mellano
