Abbey, mushrooms, cognac, honey and Proteodies
≡ June 2018 ≡
June starts the 1st with the final of On a dit… The viewed revue of Madame Lune will top it off in Paris at the 104 and will waste its last sequins with its usual striking team upgraded with chic guests.
Then back to Studio Midilive where BAUM will record the second part of Ici-bas , the album of Gabriel Fauré’s Melodies, pursuing the delicious aim of having these sublime melodies being heard again, and these deeply moving texts been freed from their lyrical overweight.
To the headsets and the microphones will take turns: Piers Faccini, Judith Chemla, Brendan Perry, Dominique A, Thomas de Pourquery, Camille, Albin de la Simone, Jeanne Added and Étienne Daho. The album will be released in November at Sony Classic.
June will end on the 30th with the very first live performance of Ici-bas. Our BAUM dreamed versions will become real at the Abbaye de Noirlac and, to hold them, Élise Caron, Judith Chemla, John Greaves, Kyrie Kristmanson, Himiko Paganotti and Rosemary Standley.
From one abbey to the Popes’ Palace. The second performance of Ici-bas will be no less than the closing show of the Festival d’Avignon and it twill take place in the Palace’s Cour d’honneur. For the event, 15 of the album’s artists will be gathered. It will happen on 24 July and, if I merrily step over months by telling you right now, it is because online booking will open on Monday 11 June. And you need to be swift for it seems that tickets will be sold as soon as 12 June.
Honey on screen. Alain Rey – De la terre aux étoiles, the wonderful documentary film by Samuel Petit -who, among others, directed The Best Death and NO&RD– and for which I composed the score, will be broadcast on France 3-Pays de la Loire channel, on 11 June just after the Soir 3 program and on 15 June at 8.50am. It is about beehives, about a delicate trade and its meaning and also about delicacies.
With Adrien M and Claire B, we are finishing a new adventure: L’Ombre de la vapeur, is a monumental and immersive installation of 900 msq, a zero-gravity spreading of the peculiarities of ‘Baudoinia compiacensis’, fungus which, as a drenched connoisseur, subtly knocks back the angels’ share also known as evaporated alcohol. feeds off the alcohol’s natural evaporation Ethers of guitars, of pure waves and multiplied voices from Kyrie Kristmanson, a composition diffracted on eight apparatus in infinite movement, this work was an opportunity to explore the wonderful world of Proteodies. The audio and visual installation will occupy the ground floor of La Fondation Martell in Cognac during one year. Opening on 30 June.
To end with, still with Adrien M and Claire B, the virtual and augmented reality installations of Mirages & miracles will pump out at Stereolux in Nantes, from 1 to 24 June.
Here are, among an infinity of others, some Spring sweets. Let’s take delight in them.
